A new species of giant meat eating Dinosaur remains were found in Thailand

Researchers found remains of Siamraptor suwati, a new species of giant meat-eating Dinosaur in the Thai province of Nakhon Ratchasima. The remains that were founded include skull, backbone, limbs and hip fossils. It belonged to four individuals of the new species. Siamraptor suwati: ♦ The Palaeontologists have named the new species Siamraptor suwati. It was named so to honour both Thailand and Suwat Liptapanlop, a benefactor of the research.  ♦ Siamraptor suwati was four times bigger than a velociraptor. The dinosaur was 26 feet long. It lived around 145 million years ago. It belongs to a group of dinosaurs called Carcharodontosaurids. These dinosaurs evolved and diverged from the other members of the carcharodontosaur group early in their history. The remains were analyzed by Palaeontologists Duangsuda Chokchaloemwong of the Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University.  ♦ Siamraptor suwati is the first definitive archarodontosaurian fossil to be found in Southeast Asia. Note: Carcharodontosaurids included some of the largest land predators ever known. The group includes Giganotosaurus, Mapusaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, and Tyrannotitan.
